O Efeito da Altura do Cano das Sapatilhas de Basquetebol na Biomecânica do Tornozelo e Prevenção de Lesões: Revisão da Literatura

Resumo

A entorse do tornozelo é a lesão mais frequente no basquetebol, sendo o mecanismo lesional habitualmente implicado a inversão forçada do pé durante mudanças rápidas de direção, receção ao salto e/ou contacto físico entre jogadores. Sapatilhas de basquetebol com cano alto começaram a ser comercializadas sob a premissa de garantirem maior estabilização da articulação do tornozelo e um consequente efeito protetivo mas, até à data, não existe evidência que o comprove. Nesta revisão, que incluiu 15 artigos, os autores concluíram que, do ponto de vista biomecânico, a utilização de sapatilhas de cano alto pode ter um efeito protetor contra a ocorrência de entorses do tornozelo, sem que isso implique uma perda significativa da performance. No entanto, outros elementos da sapatilha, porte físico, estilo de jogo e preferências individuais, também influenciam a prevenção de lesões e devem ser tidos em conta aquando da decisão do calçado. São necessários mais estudos com metodologia adequada de forma a confirmar esta hipótese.
