Infiltrações com Corticoides no Tratamento do Ombro Doloroso

Resumo

O ombro doloroso é um sintoma prevalente na população geral, podendo ser originado por diversos processos patológicos. A corticoterapia local injetável é uma abordagem terapêutica utilizada em doentes com omalgia, reduzindo a inflamação e o quadro álgico, facilitando a recuperação da funcionalidade. Os autores realizaram uma revisão da literatura subordinada à infiltração com corticoides no ombro doloroso, visando o procedimento e técnicas utilizados, fármacos disponíveis bem como a sua eficácia comparativamente a outros tratamentos. Foi feita uma pesquisa bibliográfica com recurso à PubMed, utilizando os termos “shoulder pain”, “corticosteroids” e “injections”. Foram selecionados os artigos considerados relevantes para o trabalho, tendo em conta a adequação ao tema. Os autores concluíram que a infiltração com corticoide é uma opção segura e eficaz no tratamento do ombro doloroso a curto prazo, se as normas de segurança forem cumpridas.
